I’ve spent a lot of time trying to think of something to write today.  I usually always try to blog a little something of remembrance from that day 8 years ago.  The fact of the matter is that I can’t say anything about September 11, 2001 that hasn’t already been said.

“Remember the victims, remember the heroes, remember those still serving.”

“Where were you?”

Many are still crying out for justice and revenge.

I’ve done all of those things…but the thing I remember most about September 11th…is September 12th.  On September 12th we were one nation, united.  We were united in fear, uncertainty, strength, loyalty and courage…I could go on.  I wonder if we as a nation can ever get back to that place.  I hope so.  I hope it doesn’t take another catasrophic event to bring us back together as one nation under God, indivisible.  So as we remember that fateful day, I’ll ask the question…where were you on September 12th?

Kelly - Home holding my babies…watching CNN. I remember being so Thankful that my family & friends were safe & sound but so sad for those who were suffering the loss of their loved ones…And words can not even explain the feelings that go through your head….thinking of what all of those people in the towers went through the survivors and ones who passed. I am remembering….that is the least I can do.

Bentley - Very well said Kelly. Thanks.

Kelli - I was at school. That year the band was doing a patriotic themed half time show and we performed that morning at the school assembly. After we were done, everyone sang amazing grace. I was only in 9th grade but I'll never forget it or the way it changed me. I didn't know much about terrorism but I knew that things would never be the same. That morning I did what I could as a 9th grader and ever since then I have still tried to do my best as an American.
